Teaching Grace & Obedience
Grace and obedience are not opposites, they work together in the life of a growing believer. At Little Honey Academy, we teach children that obedience flows from love, not fear, and that grace is God’s gift when we fall short.
Children learn best when they understand that they are deeply loved by God and that His instructions are given for their good.
Teach Obedience as a Response to Love
Obedience is not about earning God’s love. It is a response to the love we have already been given through Jesus.
Help children understand that following God’s ways brings wisdom, safety, and peace.
Model Grace in Everyday Moments
Children learn grace by experiencing it. When mistakes happen, respond with patience and forgiveness while guiding children toward better choices.
Grace teaches children that failure is not the end of the story.
Set Clear and Loving Boundaries
Grace does not remove boundaries. Loving boundaries help children understand expectations and responsibility.
Consistency and kindness work together to build trust and security.
Talk About Forgiveness Often
Teach children that forgiveness is part of following Jesus. When we sin, we can ask God for forgiveness and begin again.
Encourage children to extend forgiveness to others as well.
Use Scripture to Shape Understanding
Scripture helps children see how grace and obedience work together. Reading and discussing God’s Word gives clarity and anchors lessons in truth.
A Gentle Reminder for Parents
Teaching grace and obedience is a daily journey, not a one-time lesson. God walks with you as you guide your children, and His grace is present for parents as much as it is for children.
