This morning my husband and I were reading through This morning my husband and I were reading through Genesis 1-3 together, and something stood out to me. When we read the creation account, it’s easy to focus on God the Father speaking everything into existence. But did you know Jesus was there too? John 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” The “Word” in this passage is Jesus. That means when God said, “Let there be light,” Jesus was there. When He formed the mountains, oceans, stars, and every living creature, Jesus was there. When He created Adam and Eve in His image, Jesus was there. And after sin entered the world in Genesis 3, Jesus was already the answer. God’s rescue plan wasn’t an afterthought. Before the cross, before Bethlehem, before the prophets, Jesus was present from the very beginning. The Bible isn’t a collection of disconnected stories. It’s one story pointing to one Savior. So the next time you read Genesis, don’t just look for the beginning of creation. Look for the Creator Himself. Challenge: Read Genesis 1-3 and John 1:1-5.
