God Is Working in Ordinary Days
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17
When we think about seeing God at work, we often imagine the extraordinary, a miraculous healing, an answered prayer that changes everything, or a life-changing moment we never forget. While God certainly works in remarkable ways, much of His work happens in places we might overlook.
He is present in the ordinary.
God is there while you fold laundry, prepare breakfast, drive your children to school, head to work, study for a test, or clean the kitchen after dinner. He is just as present in the quiet moments as He is on the mountaintops.
Throughout Scripture, God often used ordinary people living ordinary lives. Shepherds watched sheep. Fishermen mended nets. Farmers planted seeds. Mothers cared for their families. Yet God met them where they were and invited them into His greater story.
Our daily routines are not separate from our faith, they are opportunities to live it out.
Every act of kindness, every encouraging word, every prayer before a meal, every bedtime Bible story, and every choice to obey God in the little things is an act of worship. The world may not notice those moments, but God does.
Sometimes we become discouraged because our days seem repetitive. We wonder if we’re making a difference. But faithfulness is rarely flashy. It is choosing to love well, serve joyfully, and trust God one ordinary day at a time.
The beautiful truth is this: God is shaping our hearts in the everyday moments long before we ever see the results.
Don’t wait for a “big” moment to look for God’s presence. Look for Him in today’s conversations, today’s responsibilities, today’s blessings, and even today’s challenges.
He is already there.

Family Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for being with us every single day—not just in the exciting moments, but in the ordinary ones too. Help us to recognize Your presence in our daily routines and to serve You faithfully in everything we do. Teach our family to find joy in the small moments and to trust that You are always working, even when we cannot see it. May our everyday lives bring glory to You. Amen.
