Faithfulness in Small Things
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” Luke 16:10
We often think God is preparing us for one big moment, a major opportunity, a life-changing decision, or a calling that will impact many people. While He certainly works through those moments, most of our Christian life is built in the ordinary.
Faithfulness doesn’t begin on the mission field, behind a pulpit, or when everything is finally in place. It begins in the quiet moments no one else notices.
It looks like opening your Bible even when you’re tired, praying with your children before bed, or like choosing patience instead of anger, speaking truth with love, serving without recognition, and continuing to trust God when life feels ordinary.
Jesus reminded His followers that faithfulness in little things matters. God sees every unseen act of obedience. Nothing done for Him is ever wasted.
As parents, we sometimes wonder if the small things we’re doing each day are making any difference. Reading one Bible story, saying one prayer together, showing grace after a hard day, it may not feel like much. But these are the moments God uses to shape hearts over time.
Just as a tiny seed grows into a strong tree, small acts of faithfulness grow into a life that reflects Christ.
Don’t wait for a “big” opportunity to serve God. Be faithful with today. Be faithful with your home, your family, your work, and the people God has already placed in your life.
God isn’t only interested in the destination. He is forming us through the daily journey.

Family Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for reminding us that no act of faithfulness is too small for You to notice. Help us to honor You in the ordinary moments of each day. Give us hearts that obey You even when no one is watching, and help our family grow closer to You through simple, faithful choices. Teach us to trust that You are working, even when we cannot see it. Amen.
