Week 3 | Day 1 – What is Prayer? (Rooted Honey)
Welcome to Week Three.
Last week, we learned that God is our Father, that He loves us, cares for us, provides for us, guides us, and stays with us.
This week, we are learning something very special:
Because God is our Father, we can talk to Him.
That is what prayer is.
Prayer is not complicated or scary.
Prayer is simply talking to God and listening to Him.
God wants to hear from His children.
“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.”
Psalm 145:18
This verse reminds us that when we talk to God, He is close and listening.
Today’s Truth
Prayer is relationship, not performance.
Prayer is not meant to impress God or follow a script.
It is an invitation to speak openly with our Father.
God already knows our hearts, yet He invites us to come to Him anyway.
Through prayer, we grow closer to God and learn to trust Him more deeply.
Prayer:
Dear God, Thank You for inviting me into relationship with You. Teach me to pray honestly and trust that You are listening. Amen.
Reflection Prompt:
How do you usually think about prayer?
How might viewing prayer as conversation change the way you pray?
Optional Supplies or Resources: Bible, Journal
Looking Ahead
Tomorrow, we will learn that God listens when we pray and that our words matter to Him.
