Week 3 | Day 4 – Prayer Includes Gratitude (Rooted Honey)

So far this week, we’ve learned:

• Prayer is talking to God

• God listens when we pray

• We can pray anytime

Today, we’re learning an important part of prayer:

Prayer includes gratitude.

Gratitude means saying thank you.

When we thank God, we remember His goodness and care in our lives.

God loves when His children notice and thank Him for what He has done.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; his love endures forever.”  Psalm 107:1

This verse reminds us that God is good, and thanking Him helps us remember His goodness.

Today’s Truth

Gratitude shapes our hearts.

Gratitude helps shift our focus from what we lack to what God has already provided.

Thanking God builds humility, trust, and joy.

Even in difficult seasons, gratitude reminds us that God is still good and present.

Prayer:

Dear God, Thank You for Your constant goodness.  Teach me to be thankful in every season.  Amen.

Reflection Prompt:

Why do you think gratitude is an important part of prayer?

How does thanking God change your perspective?

Optional Supplies or Resources: Bible, Journal

Looking Ahead:

Tomorrow, we will learn that prayer also includes asking God for help, because He cares about what we need.
